QUOTES ON TOP
“I want something really worthwhile to live for. I want to invest this one life of mine as wisely as possible, in the place that yields the richest profits to the world and me…wherever it is, I want it to be God’s choice for me and not my own… Christ said, “He that would find his life shall lose it” and proved the truth of this divine paradox at Calvary. I want Him to lead me and His Holy Spirit to fill me.” – Betty Stam

JOY FILLED PARENTING - 4 (TEACH YOUR CHILDREN PROPERLY)
“Train
up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not
depart from it.” – Proverbs 22:6
When little children grew up they
look to their parents to understand the things that are happening around. As
parents you have to train your child to seek God daily and always.
Recently I have learnt that whatever
we teach our child, we have to do it correctly and properly. In the previous
week I took my little daughter out for a walk. As I was carrying her in my
arms, I want to teach her something different. So I pointed my finger towards
the cloud and said to her that the white things seen above are cloud. She was
one year old and she just looked above and smiled. Then I told her about the
sky and for that also she smiled.
Then I thought that I will relate
God and so I said that Jesus Christ lives above the cloud and the sky. I
repeated this for several times so that she could understand that clearly.
Later when we reached home I asked
her the question, where is Jesus Christ? Usually when I ask her a question she
will answer it in her actions and single words that she knew. But on that day
she didn’t answer my question. As she looked at me, I again pointed the fingers
towards the sky and told Jesus Christ is there.
Immediately my wife responded and
said to me that I should not teach her like that. Then she came near to our
daughter and took her little hands and kept it on her chest and said, “Jesus
Christ is inside you and He resides in your heart.”
Actually I was proud on that day
evening that I taught some valuable thing to my daughter but when my wife
pointed out the mistake I understand I should be more careful and diligent
while teach my little daughter about Godly ways she should follow.
From that day onwards whenever
someone asks my little daughter, “Where is Jesus”, she will quickly put her
little hands on her chest repeatedly and say He is inside her.
My dear young parents, teach your
child the way they should go. And when you teach them, make sure you are
teaching them correctly and in an appropriate way. God has given the
responsibility to you to take care of your child and you have to do that
properly.

LORD WILL DEFEND AND DELIVER YOU
“Like
birds flying about, So will the Lord of hosts defend Jerusalem. Defending,
He will also deliver it; Passing
over, He will preserve it.” –
Isaiah 31:5
Few days ago as I had
some work at night, I went to bed little bit late. As I entered our bedroom I
saw my wife was sleeping and our little daughter was lying awake near her in
the bed. As I went inside our little daughter saw me and so she came to my side
and I was holding her in my arms.
We both were sitting
in the other corner of the bed. Suddenly our little daughter sneezed.
Immediately my wife who was sleeping on the other side woke up all in a sudden
thinking that our daughter went to the other corner of the bed unknowingly. As
she thought that my daughter should not fall down, she woke up in a hurry and
then moved so fast to hold our daughter in the direction where I was sitting along with our
daughter. Then she realized that I was holding her in my hands and so with a
great calmness she went to sleep again.
I was there for more
than ten minutes and my wife was having a deep sleep. But yet even at that time
she was so careful about the safety of our daughter.
On that night Holy
Spirit reminded me of the verse written in Isaiah 31:5 which talks about the
way God protect His people. Usually birds fly above their nest to protect their
little ones. Their eyes will be fixed on their little ones always.
You might be
surrounded by enemies and people who oppose you. You might feel like a prey.
Unexpectedly many might have come against you to destroy you. You might feel
like you are falling. Do not get discouraged.
Jesus Christ is with
you to protect you. He is on your side. No one can destroy you and your
blessings.
On that night my wife
was sleeping but yet she cared about her child’s protection. But Bible says, “Behold, He who keeps Israel Shall neither slumber nor sleep.”-Psalms 121:4. Then how much more God
will care for you and protect you. Because He who keeps you shall neither sleep
nor slumber.
His eyes are upon you
and He cares for you a lot. He will not let anyone to overpower you. He will
not forsake you. No disease, no evil, no human plan, no problems can destroy
you. You are God’s child. He will guard you and protect you. He will deliver you and defend you.
Have God as your
refuge. You will live.

DO NOT FIGHT WITH GOD FOR YOUR OWN DESIRE
“Now it shall come to pass, if you diligently obey the
voice of the Lord your God, to observe
carefully all His commandments which I command you today, that the Lord your God will set you high above
all nations of the earth.” – Deuteronomy 28:1
In 1 Samuel 15th Chapter we
read that God asked Saul to utterly destroy the Amalekites. God wants Saul to
kill everything and every one of Amalekites. The commandment was clearly given
by God to Saul through Samuel the prophet. But Saul and his men failed to obey
God completely. They were not willing to utterly destroy everything and spared
all that was good. But they destroyed everything that was worthless.
Saul failed to obey God and so God’s
anger came upon him. God rejected Saul as king. God says in 1 Samuel 15:11, “I greatly
regret that I have set up Saul as
king, for he has turned back from following Me, and has not performed My
commandments...”
Because Saul disobeyed
God he lost all his blessings and died miserably.
Recently I heard a
testimony from a woman who is currently working in a good position in a
particular organization. Once she completed her schooling she got admitted in
an Engineering college. During the years of her study as first year was common
for everyone she had no option to choose her branch. But at the beginning of
the second year she was allowed to choose her course of study.
She had scored good
marks and so she preferred ECE as first choice, EEE as second choice and Civil
as third choice. She was so sure that she will get her first choice preference because
of her good marks. But the next day she found out that she was given the third
choice and was asked to go to the Civil department class. As she was so
disappointed she cried for the whole day without going to the department.
The same evening she
insisted her father to talk to the higher authority of that institution the
very next day so that she can get her first choice. His father agreed to her
request as he knew one of the higher authorities of that particular
institution.
The next day morning
she was happy as she knew that her father will come and speak for her. As she
happily came out of her home, she heard a voice of a preacher who was preaching
in a radio program and through him God said, “I will give you what you want but
later don’t ask me why I gave you that.”
She was touched by
that word and she knew that studying Civil Engineering was God’s choice in her
life and so she immediately surrendered her life to God saying she will continue
her study in that branch itself.
God blessed her abundantly
and she said that she has completed her doctorate degree before 30 years of age
and she became a Principal of an institution at an age of 31. Even today she is
working as a head of the department in a particular institution. God has set
her high because she obeyed God and set aside her own desire.
My dear young friends,
even today if you set aside your own desire and accept God’s will in your life
and obey His word, He will set you high. Jesus Christ will bless you richly and
He will reward you. Do not go on your own way and do not fight with God for
your own desire. Obey God and you will be blessed.

WHEN YOU CAN'T HANDLE LIFE'S PROBLEMS, GIVE THAT INTO GOD'S HANDS
Recently I had learnt certain things
from my little daughter. My grandmother is living with me and in her room she
always had a torch light by her bedside. My little daughter loves to play with
that. Initially we carried her to that room and later when she had started
crawling she begun to go to that room by herself.
But on the process I learnt few
things from her. She crawls into that room even when no one was there. But as
she crawls and reaches that room entrance she always turns back and make sure
that I am coming behind her. She never enters that room if she feels that I was
away from her.
Similarly we have to ensure in our
life that Jesus Christ is with us at all times. We might be going through any
path but if He is with us we can easily overcome any hard thing that we face in
our lives. God has promised us in Genesis
28:15, “Behold, I am
with you and will keep you wherever you go...” Do not worry about anything. He will be with you and protect you wherever you go.
Once my daughter reaches to my
grandmother’s bedside, she knew that she can’t climb on that and so she will
stretch her hands towards me and ask her to lift me and keep her on the top of
the bed.
As we face some tough situations in
our life, we have to learn to look to our Heavenly Father for His counsel.
Psalmist says in Psalm 121:1,2 “I lift up my eyes to the mountains-where does my help come from? My
help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and
earth.”
When you look unto God
for help, He will not let your foot to be moved. He will carry you and sustain
you.
And then as she take
the torch light in her hand she understand that she can’t operate it at all and
so she will give that to my hands and as I switch it on and off, she will laugh
a lot looking at the light.
At times even in our
lives we struggle to handle certain problems. All we have to do is give that
particular problem into God’s hands. Because God has promised us in Exodus 14:14, “The Lord will fight for you; you need only
to be still.”
My dear young friends,
God cares for you and your life more than you do. So ensure that He is with you
at all times and put your trust and surrender your life’s situation into His
hands. He will do everything beautiful in your life. You will have peace and
joy.
