GHG SHORT DEVOTIONALS - 59 (YOU WILL HAVE JOY AND GLADNESS)

“And you will have joy and gladness..." - Luke 1:14

“You will have joy and gladness for I have heard your prayers and will grant your petitions”, says God to you today.

1.     God is going to do great things in your life. It will be told to others for the upliftment of their faith.  Such will be the greatness of God’s doing in your life.

In Luke first chapter we read about a woman called Elizabeth. She was old and barren. She and her husband lived a righteous life before God. God heard their prayers.

“Now after those days his wife Elizabeth conceived; and she hid herself five months..." - Luke 1:24

Soon Elizabeth got conceived and she hid herself for five months.

“Now in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent by God to a city of Galilee named Nazareth” – Luke 1:26

God did a miracle in the life of Elizabeth. In the sixth month of her pregnancy, Gabriel was sent to Mary to convey her about the birth of Jesus through her.

“Then Mary said to the angel, “How can this be, since I do not know a man?" - Luke 1:34

As a reply to the question that had put before by Mary, the angel of the Lord explains to her about the process that happens through the Holy Spirit and towards the end the angel said to Mary,

“Now indeed, Elizabeth your relative has also conceived a son in her old age; and this is now the sixth month for her who was called barren. For with God nothing will be impossible." - Luke 1:36,37

To encourage and uplift the faith of Mary, the angel said to her about the great things that God has done in the life of Elizabeth.
My dear children of God, today Holy Spirit says to that,
a)     You will receive God’s goodness
b)    It will bring great joy and gladness to you
c)     The great things that God is going to do in your life will uplift the faith of the others as it will be told to them as testimony
d)    With God nothing is impossible.
