QUOTES ON TOP

“I want something really worthwhile to live for. I want to invest this one life of mine as wisely as possible, in the place that yields the richest profits to the world and me…wherever it is, I want it to be God’s choice for me and not my own… Christ said, “He that would find his life shall lose it” and proved the truth of this divine paradox at Calvary. I want Him to lead me and His Holy Spirit to fill me.” – Betty Stam

GHG SHORT DEVOTIONALS - 43 (YOUR ENEMIES WILL PERISH)

“…for all the men who sought your life are dead.” – Exodus 4:19

“…for those who sought the young Child’s life are dead.” – Matthew 2:20

“Those who are coming against you and those who sought your life will go astray but you will live and prosper”, says God to you today.

1.     God will not deliver you into your enemy’s hand.

“…Saul sought him every day, but God did not deliver him into his hand.” – 1 Samuel 23:14

Saul rose against David and tried to kill him several times. Day after day he searched for David to kill him but God did not give David into Saul’s hand.  At the end, Saul died. But God gave His grace to David to become King over His people.

God will not deliver you into the hands of those who come against you. They will perish but you will live says God to you.

2.     Though you search for your enemies, you will not find them.

“You shall seek them and not find them-Those who contended with you. Those who war against you shall be as nothing, as a nonexistent thing." - Isaiah 41:12

David and his men protected the shepherds and things of a man named Nabal. They were like a wall around all the things that Nabal had in the wilderness. Though David did good to Nabal, he repaid him evil for good. So David had decided to kill Nabal. As he was going against Nabal, Abigail, the wife of Nabal came and met David in the midway and said this wonderful word which is recorded in 1 Samuel 25:29

“Even though someone is pursuing you to take your life, the life of my lord will be bound securely in the bundle of the living by the Lord your God, but the lives of your enemies he will hurl away as from the pocket of a sling."

David heeded to the words of Abigail and returned back. After about ten days, the Lord struck Nabal and he died.

God says in Deuteronomy 32:35
Vengeance is Mine, and recompense; Their foot shall slip in due time; for the day of their calamity is at hand, and the things to come hasten upon them."

People might come against you and seek your life. Do not get discouraged. God is not going to deliver you into the hands of your enemies. Your life will be bound securely by the Lord your God. The lives of your enemies will sling out. You will search for your enemies but will not find them. They will perish but you will live and prosper. God will do everything for you. God is on your side and He will protect you.

GHG SHORT DEVOTIONALS - 42 (GOD IS SO CONCERNED ABOUT YOUR LIFE)

“…What ails you...” – Genesis 21:17

The angel of God called to Hagar out of heaven, and asked her, “What ails you?"

1. God knows your situation.

God asked this question to Hagar not because He doesn’t know about her problem but because He wants her to know that He is so concerned about her and her child’s life.

Your life is like a wilderness. You are facing discouragement and depression. You are lost. Today God is asking you, My Child, what ails you?

Even today your heart might be filled with so much of fear and pain. Do not worry about anything for God is so much concerned about the hardships that you are facing and the pain you are going through. He is concerned about everything related to your life. He knows your struggles and sorrows. He wants you to know that He will never forsake you.

2. Arise

“Arise, lift up the lad and hold him with your hand, for I will make him a great nation." - Genesis 21:18

God wants Hagar to arise and move on as He had decided to fulfil His promises that He had spoken to her.

You are not called to sit, worry and shed tears for unnecessary things and die. You are called to do greater things. As God is going to fulfil His promises in your life from now on, He says to you, “My beloved child, Arise and move on for I am going to do great things in your life which you had never thought and dreamt of.”

3. Your life will be filled with God’s blessings.

Then God opened her eyes, and she saw a well of water…” – Genesis 21:19

The situations that you are facing today in your life that brings pain and sorrow into your heart is not going to last longer says God to you.
God has heard your cry and afflictions. He will open a way where there seems to be no way. You are not going to die. You will see God’s glory and you will live. God will remove all your pain and make you see greater things.

“For thus says the Lord: ‘You shall not see wind, nor shall you see rain; yet that valley shall be filled with water..." - II Kings 3:17

GHG SHORT DEVOTIONAL - 41 (GOD WILL BUILD YOU)

Jeremiah 31:4 "Again I will build you, and you shall be rebuilt, O virgin of Israel..."

1. God is calling you virgin

Jeremiah 30:17  For I will restore health to you And heal you of your wounds,' says the Lord, 'Because they called you an outcast saying: "This is Zion; No one seeks her." '

Today God says to someone out there, "My daughter, I consider and call you virgin as I had removed all your past transgressions. No longer I remember your past in which your conduct and deeds were not holy. I have seen your tears and heard your weeping. I will make everything new in your life for I have loved you with an everlasting love.

2. God will build you and you will be rebuilt.

Job 42:12  "Now the Lord blessed the latter days of Job more than his beginning..."

The blessings that Job had was taken away. He had lost all that he had. His life was destroyed completely. But then the Lord blessed the latter days of him. God had built Job's life again.
You have lost some blessings that you had. Something that was precious has been taken away from you. Today your heart was broken.

God says to you that He will make you stand again for His glory. Your loss will be restored. The glory of God that you are going to see in your life and ministry will be far more greater than the glory that you had seen in the earlier days. I will do it for you says God to you.

Jeremiah 24:6  For I will set My eyes on them for good, and I will bring them back to this land; I will build them and not pull them down, and I will plant them and not pluck them up.

GHG SHORT DEVOTIONALS - 40 (INSTEAD PRAY)

“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything…”- Philippians 4:6

1. When God has closed doors in your life and others provoke and irritate you, don’t worry. Do pray.

“Because the LORD had closed Hannah's womb, her rival kept provoking her in order to irritate her." - 1 Samuel 1:6

God had closed Hannah’s womb and so she was barren. Her rival used to provoke and irritate her. In the initial years Hannah used to weep and not eat. Though her husband used to comfort her, she used to worry a lot.

“In her deep anguish Hannah prayed to the LORD, weeping bitterly." - 1 Samuel 1:10

But on a particular day, she ran into the presence of God and poured her heart to Him. God remembered and blessed her.

You might be going through afflictions. People around you might provoke and irritate you. They might put you down. Don’t worry about anything. Do pray. God will remember you and remove all your afflictions.

2. When you are desperately in need of a blessing and God’s promises seems to be delayed, don’t worry. Do pray.

Isaac was forty years old when he took Rebekah as wife. Nearly for twenty years they had no child. Though God’s promise was upon Isaac there was no sign of a blessing.

“Now Isaac pleaded with the LORD for his wife, because she was barren; and the LORD granted his plea, and Rebekah his wife conceived." - Genesis 25:21

Isaac prayed for his wife and Lord granted his plea. Even today you might be longing for a blessing. God will surely grant your petition which you have ask of Him and fulfil His promises in your life.

3. When everything was against you, don’t worry. Do pray.

Esther 3:15 “….the city of Shushan was perplexed”

A man named Haman sought to destroy all the Jews, a decree was written to destroy and kill all the Jews. As the decree was proclaimed in Shushan, the city was perplexed. As All the Jews including Esther looked to God in fasting for three days and God heard their cry and destroyed their enemy and as Bible says in Esther 8:15"...the city of Shusha rejoiced and was glad"

Today someone might be against you or situations might be against you. You might be perplexed. Don’t worry. Do pray. God will make you rejoice and you will be glad.
