QUOTES ON TOP

“I want something really worthwhile to live for. I want to invest this one life of mine as wisely as possible, in the place that yields the richest profits to the world and me…wherever it is, I want it to be God’s choice for me and not my own… Christ said, “He that would find his life shall lose it” and proved the truth of this divine paradox at Calvary. I want Him to lead me and His Holy Spirit to fill me.” – Betty Stam

GHG SHORT DEVOTIONALS - 51 (YOU WILL RECOVER ALL THAT YOU HAD LOST)

“And when he had brought him down, there they were, spread out over all the land, eating and drinking and dancing, because of all the great spoil which they had taken from the land of the Philistines and from the land of Judah.” – 1 Samuel 30:16

Today someone who is responsible for your sorrow and pain or your enemies might be dancing and rejoicing but you might be in deep pain weeping knowing not what to do. Today Holy Spirit wants me to tell you that God will change your life situations for good and you will surely overtake them and recover all that you had lost.

1.     Strengthen yourself in the Lord.
“Now David was greatly distressed…But David strengthened himself in the Lord his God.” – 1 Samuel 30:6

Someone had done something that is unfair in your life which had brought you into a distressed situation. People around you who are your loved ones is blaming you about your failure. No one understands your sorrow as everyone had turned their face away from you. Do not get discouraged. Strengthen yourself in the Lord your God who had carried you thus far. God is in your side says Holy Spirit to you.

2.     Seek God’s counsel.
So David inquired of the Lord, saying, “Shall I pursue this troop? Shall I overtake them?...” – 1 Samuel 30:8

Though his own family members and all his blessings had taken as captive by Amalekites, David sought the counsel of the Lord. He went behind the enemies only after getting the approval of the Lord. So he was victorious and could recover all that he had lost.

God has promised in Psalm 32:8, “I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go;I will guide you with My eye.”

He will instruct you and guide you. You will be victorious.

3.     God listens and will attend to the voice of your prayer.
“Butcertainly God has heard me;He has attended to the voice of my prayer.” – Psalms 66:19

“…And He answered him…” – 1 Samuel 30:8

When David asked God for His counsel, He immediately answered him.

“For this child I prayed, and the Lord has granted me my petition which I asked of Him.” – 1 Samuel 1:27

Hannah was broken and she asked God for a child. The Lord Almighty listened to her prayer and answered her.

Today Holy Spirit wants you to remember that the God to whom you pray is a prayer answering God. Even in this moment of distress God says to you that He will not leave you as orphans and He will come to you.

God has not left David alone. He gave him His grace and strength to struck down the enemies and to recover all that he had lost. He will not leave you too. He will stand by your side and strengthen you. You will recover all that you had lost. God will restore your joy and peace. You will be victorious.

GHG SHORT DEVOTIONALS - 50 (GOD'S HEART IS GROANING)

“Deeply moved once more, Jesus went to the tomb, which was a cave with a stone placed at the entrance.” – John 11:38

To do a miracle in your life and to bring you out of the tomb into resurrection, today God’s heart is groaning once again says Holy Spirit to you.

1.     God is weeping for you again.

The heart of Jesus Christ moved so deeply that He came to the tomb to raise Lazarus from death. He groaned and wept as He saw Mary and other Jews weeping. But then His heart moved deeply once more.

Even today God’s heart is moving deeply once more to bring back the joy that you had lost in your life. “My light will shine upon you and your life and your days of mourning will end”, says Jesus Christ to you today.

2.     You will experience God’s glorious resurrection power.

Lazarus was dead and buried. His life was over. Every hope that was once kept upon his life was completely ended.

This is your life situation today. Many around you had given up hope about your life and you also had lost hope about your life. You say its all over and you believe so.

Its not over as you are going to experience God’s resurrection power in your life. God’s glory will be revealed in your life.

3.     What God is going to do in your life will turn the hearts of many to Jesus says Holy Spirit to you.

“ Many of the people who had come to visit Mary saw what Jesus did, and they believed in Him.” – John 11:45

Many who knew that Lazarus was dead and had come to visit Mary saw the miracle that Jesus Christ did on that day and they believed in Him.

As you are going to share what Jesus Christ had done in your life as testimony, whoever hears that will believe in Him says Holy Spirit to you. Such will be the God’s power that is going to be revealed in your life in the coming days. You will stand back.

There will be a brand new beginning in your life. Today God promises you,
“Behold, I will do a new thing, Now it shall spring forth; Shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert." - Isaiah 43:19

GHG SHORT DEVOTIONALS - 49 (GOD WILL TURN YOUR SORROWS INTO JOY)

"So it was, year by year, when she went up to the house of the Lord , that she provoked her; therefore she wept and did not eat." - I Samuel 1:7

Hannah went through pain, sorrow and tribulations as she was barren. Her rival used to provoke her. For years, Hannah went through the path of afflictions until a day she went to God's presence and poured her heart before the Lord. Her life changed as God had turned her sorrow into joy.

Even today as you go through the same kind of sorrow and afflictions Hannah went through, Holy Spirit wants me to tell you that God is going to change your life situation and your sorrows will turn to joy.

Today God is promising you that

a) He will grant your petitions that you have asked of Him. (1 Samuel 1:17)
b) Your face will no longer be sad.  (1 Samuel 1:18)
c) He will remember you.  (1 Samuel 1:19)
d) Your heart will rejoice in the Lord.  (1 Samuel 2:1)
e) Your mouth will be opened wide to speak boldly against your enemies. As you rejoice in God's salvation, you will laugh at your enemies.  (1 Samuel 2:1)

I will turn your lamentations into joyful dancing and gladness says God to you today.
