LET US THANK THE LORD

 

“Let us thank the Lord, who has not let our enemies destroy us.” – Psalms 124:6 (GNT)

As we have reached the end of this year 2020, we can boldly proclaim that we have experienced the Lord’s protection and favour abundantly in this year. We have faced a terrible pandemic and many around us have lost their lives. In this year many of us had gone through some tough times. People tried to destroy us. The pandemic tried to destroy us. Evil forces tried to destroy our peace and family lives. But then the Lord stood with us and He had not let our enemies destroy us.

We are alive today by His grace. How blessed we are to have the Creator of this universe watching over us and standing by our side to guide and help us!

Personally to me this year was a year of blessing. The Lord graciously gave us a daughter before we entered into lockdown. When the lockdown was announced, I really don’t know what to do and so I went into God’s presence and surrendered the whole family into the hands of the Lord. We had our new born daughter along with another little daughter given by God to us. Also my grandmother who is around 82 years old was also with us. I knew very well that I could not take care of this entire people who belong to different age groups. The Lord graciously heard my prayers and took care of everyone and everything.

The Lord graciously protected each and everyone amidst all the trials and tribulations and He blessed us richly. We did go through some tough situations but throughout the year no one got sick and no lives were lost. In all those tough situations we could see the hand of the Lord carrying us and protecting us. Today as a family we are alive only because of the grace of Jesus Christ. I sincerely thank our Lord for His eternal love and grace that sustained us.

My dear young friends, let us thank the Lord who has not let our enemies destroy us. We have escaped like a bird from a hunter’s trap because the Lord was on our side. Remember, you are alive today only because of God’s grace. Let us enter into the New Year with a grateful heart and thanksgiving. The Lord will continue to be with you and He will lead you and protect you in the New Year too.

I HAVE SET YOU APART SAYS THE LORD - GHG DEVOTIONS

 “…I have set you apart from all other people to be Mine.” – Leviticus 20:26

The Lord who has distinguished you apart from all other people tells you that, He has chosen you and He has a purpose for your life.

What could be the reason that the Lord has set you apart?

Yes, He has chosen you particularly so that you will be His own. You absolutely belong to Him. You are the people of the most powerful God. He has great zeal upon you. How blessed and gifted it is to be the sons and daughters of the true living God!

What is it that the Lord expects from His people?

1.       To Be Holy:

“You shall be holy to Me, for I the Lord am holy…” – Leviticus 20:26

What should you do to be holy?

“You must not follow the customs of the nations I cast out before you…” – Leviticus 20:23

You are not called to follow the people of this world and to act likely in their ways. The Lord has set you apart for you to be holy, says the Holy Spirit.

The Lord has chosen Samson to be a Nazirite. He was called for a special purpose. But when he began to follow the sinful ways of this world, he lost the precious relationship that he had with God. He was once called to be a blessed man but then he turned upside down to became a weak man and an object of entertainment to others. So, dedicate yourself to obey the voice of the Lord. Do not conform yourself any longer to the pattern of this world and it's pleasures.

 

2.       Sing praises to the Lord:

“They are the people I made for Myself, and they will sing My praises!” – Isaiah 43:21

In Luke chapter 17, we could look into an incident. Ten lepers came to Jesus and shouted to Him to help them with his grace. Jesus saw them and said, “Go and let the priests examine you.” On the way they were made clean. And one among them, when he saw that he was healed, returned to the Lord, and with a loud voice he glorified God.

Are you like those nine people who received His grace and blessings but went on their own way without feeling any gratefulness towards the Lord. Or are you like that one man who came back and glorified God with a mighty voice for the goodness he had received from the Lord? Examine yourself!

The Lord has especially chosen you to sing His praises. Do not murmur. Think about all the goodness that the Lord has bestowed upon you in your life and praise Him, says Holy Spirit to you.

GHG TAMIL SHORT DEVOTIONS - 9 (நீங்கள் தேவனுடையவர்கள்)

 

“…நீங்கள் என்னுடையவர்களாயிருக்கும்படிக்கு, உங்களை மற்ற ஜனங்களை விட்டுப் பிரித்தெடுத்தேன்.” லேவியராகமம் 20:26

உன்னை நான் தெரிந்து கொண்டதற்கு ஒரு நோக்கம் உண்டு என்று உங்களை மற்ற ஜனங்களைவிட்டு பிரித்தெடுத்த உங்கள் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் சொல்லுகின்றார்.

எதற்காக தேவன் உங்களை பிரித்தெடுத்திருக்கின்றார்?

நீங்கள் அவருடையவர்களாயிருக்கும்படிக்கு உங்களை அவர் தெரிந்தெடுத்திருக்கின்றார்.

நீங்கள் தேவனுடையவர்கள். சர்வ வல்லமையுள்ள தேவனின் சொந்த ஜனம். உங்கள்பேரில் அவர் வைராக்கியம் கொண்டிருக்கின்றார். எவ்வளவு பெரிய பாக்கியம்!

தேவனுடையவர்கள் எப்படிப்பட்டவர்களாக இருக்க வேண்டும்? தேவன் உங்களிடத்தில் எதிர்பார்ப்பது என்ன?

1.            பரிசுத்தவான்களாயிருப்பீர்களாக

“கர்த்தராகிய நான் பரிசுத்தராயிருக்கிறபடியினாலே நீங்களும் எனக்கேற்ற பரிசுத்தவான்களாயிருப்பீர்களாக…” லேவியராகமம் 20:26

தேவனுக்கேற்ற பரிசுத்தவான்களாயிருக்கும்படிக்கு நீங்கள் செய்யவேண்டியது என்ன?

“நான் உங்களுக்கு முன்பாகத் துரத்திவிடுகிற ஜனத்தினுடைய வழிபாடுகளில் நடவாதிருங்கள்…” - லேவியராகமம் 20:23

நீங்கள் இந்த உலகத்திற்கு ஒத்தவேஷந்தரிக்க அழைக்கப்பட்டவர்கள் அல்ல என்று இந்த நாளிலே ஆவியானவர் உங்களுக்கு சொல்கின்றார்.

சிம்சோனை தேவன் தமக்கென்று நசரேயனாக ஒர் உன்னத நோக்கத்திற்காக தெரிந்துகொண்டார். ஆனால் அவன் தன்னை பாவத்திற்கு ஒப்புக்கொடுத்தபோது பரிசுத்தத்தை இழந்தவனாய் தேவனுடைய உறவை இழந்துபோனான். பாக்கியவானாய் இருக்க அழைக்கப்பட்டவன் பலட்சயமாகி வேடிக்கை காட்டுகிறவனாக பரிதாபமாய் மாறிப்போனான்.

தேவனுடைய கட்டளைகளுக்கு கீழ்ப்படியும்படி உங்களை அர்ப்பணியுங்கள். எந்த ஜனத்தினின்று தேவன் உங்களை பிரித்தெடுத்தாரோ அவர்களுடைய வழிகளில் நடவாதிருங்கள்.

2.            துதியினால் நிறைந்திருங்கள்

இந்த ஜனத்தை எனக்கென்று ஏற்படுத்தினேன்; இவர்கள் என் துதியைச் சொல்லிவருவார்கள். ஏசாயா 43:21

லூக்கா 17ம் அதிகாரம் 12-16ம் வசனங்களில் ஒரு சம்பவத்தை வாசிக்கலாம்.

இயேசு தம்மை நோக்கி சத்தமிட்ட பத்து குஷ்டரோகிகளை நோக்கி நீங்கள் போய், ஆசாரியர்களுக்கு உங்களைக் காண்பியுங்கள் என்றார். அந்தப்படி அவர்கள் போகையில் சுத்தமானார்கள்.  ஆனால் அதில் ஒருவன் மாத்திரமே திரும்பிவந்து, உரத்த சத்தத்தோடே தேவனை மகிமைப்படுத்தி, அவருடைய பாதத்தருகே முகங்குப்புற விழுந்து, அவருக்கு ஸ்தோத்திரஞ்செலுத்தினான்.

இதை வாசிக்கின்ற நீ, தேவனிடத்தில் நன்மையை பெற்றுக்கொண்டு தங்கள் வழியே கடந்து சென்ற அந்த ஒன்பது பேரை போல் இருக்கின்றாயா அல்லது உனக்காக நன்மை செய்து உன்னை உயர்த்தின தேவனுக்கு துதியும் மகிமையும் செலுத்துகிறவனாக காணப்படுகின்றாயா?

முறுமுறுக்காமல் தேவன் உங்களுக்காக செய்த நன்மைகளை எண்ணி அவரைத் துதியுங்கள் என்று ஆவியானவர் உங்களுக்கு சொல்லுகின்றார்.
