QUOTES ON TOP

“I want something really worthwhile to live for. I want to invest this one life of mine as wisely as possible, in the place that yields the richest profits to the world and me…wherever it is, I want it to be God’s choice for me and not my own… Christ said, “He that would find his life shall lose it” and proved the truth of this divine paradox at Calvary. I want Him to lead me and His Holy Spirit to fill me.” – Betty Stam

CHRISTIAN BEST ONE LINERS - 5

If not by you, then how? And if not now, then when?

Giving someone a word from the Lord, an extended hand, or a kind deed , can lead to an awesome work of the Lord!

Maybe people tend to read their Bible more toward the end of their life because they are cramming for the final exam!

Life has many choices but eternity offers only two, and by choosing Jesus you eliminate one of those!

Be glad that God is your judge, because he is the only one who has an inside view of your heart.

Sin will take you farther than you want to go, and keep you there longer than you want to stay.

Christians will divide if we look only at what we know, but we will unite if we look at who we know!

Prevent 'Sin burn' by using 'Son Screen'.

When we get tangled up in our problems, be still, so God can untangle the knot.

A grudge is a heavy thing to carry.

Have a great day because 'The SON' is shining and HE can certainly use you!

If you can read this, thank God!!

WILL YOU SACRIFICE YOUR LIFE FOR GOD? - A TRUE INCIDENT TAKEN FROM A SPIRITUAL BOOK

During the reign of Antoninus Pius there occurred the most famous of all martyrdom, that of the aged Polycarp, Bishop of Smyrna (AD 69-156). Polycarp was a man of simple, yet deep faith. He was regarded with much reverence and affection by his flock. Even the non-Christians of Smyrna respected him.

Polycarp was the church’s last link with the ‘Apostolic Age’. In his younger years, he had been a pupil of the apostle John and had enjoyed the company of many who had seen the Lord.

The church enjoyed a time of relative calm under the Emperor Antoninus Pius, who took a lenient view towards Christians. Ay Smyrna, however, there arose a local outbreak of persecution and 12 Christians were condemned to die in the arena.

One man, Quintius, who had originally exhorted the others to face martyrdom, lost heart at the sight of the beasts and was persuaded by the Romans to offer incense to the Emperor. The other eleven held firm under torture and were thrown to the wild beasts; one of them actually goaded the beasts into attacking him, and his courage incensed the crowd. They began to clamor for the bishop: “Polycarp to the lions!” they shouted, “Search out Polycarp!”

The believers, anxious for his safety, urged the bishop to withdraw to a farm in the country. Though unafraid of death, he realized he would be needed to minister to the flock, and so agreed. But the Lord revealed to him that his end was near. Three days before his death, Polycarp had a dream in which he saw his pillow on fire. Believing it to be prophetic, he informed the Christians, ‘I must be burned alive,’ which caused much alarm. Although he still had the opportunity to escape, he refused saying, ‘God’s will be done.’

One of Polycarp’s servants was seized and tortured and he betrayed the whereabouts of his master. When the Roman officials arrived to arrest Polycarp, he treated them with utmost courtesy, and invited them to eat and drink as his guests. It seemed they too were awed by his presence, and were amazed at his great age and bearing.

He asked the men to give him one hour in which to pray, and he spent some time in commending his friends to God and asking for courage to face the coming ordeal. When he was ready, the officials mounted him upon an ass and led him into the city. As they traveled, the men tried to persuade him to deny Christ.

“Why, what harm is there in saying, ‘Caesar is lord,’ and so save yourself?” they argued.

But the purpose of their plea was not to save him from death, rather the honor of breaking down a champion of the church.

As Polycarp was entering the stadium where the games were being held, there came a voice from heaven: “Be strong, Polycarp, and play the man”. Some of the believers standing by heard the voice, but they saw no one; perhaps it was the voice of God!

In the arena, the wild beast show was over and the crowd had grown restless and angry. Polycarp was brought before the proconsul who began by urging him to deny his faith. The proconsul pleaded with him, ‘Swear by the divinity of Caesar; repent and take the oath and I will let you go, revile Christ.’

To which the bishop nobly replied, “Eighty-six years I have served Him, and He has done me no wrong – how can I blaspheme my King who has saved me?”

Despite further entreaties and threats of wild beasts and fire, the bishop remained firm in his resolve. At last the proconsul called the herald and told him to announce three times ‘Polycarp has confessed to being a Christian.’

Without waiting for the wild beasts, the crowd demanded that ‘Polycarp should be burned alive’, fulfilling the prophecy. Hurriedly logs were gathered together and a funeral pyre built. The bishop put off his cloak, loosened the girdle of his tunic and endeavoured to untie his shoes. “He who gives me power to endure the fire will also give me the power to withstand the flames”, he declared.

As the flames leapt around him, Polycarp looked up to heaven, praising God and thanking him that he was counted worthy to take the cup of Christ. When the onlookers saw that the body was not being consumed in the fire, a gladiator was sent to despatch the bishop with a dagger thrust through the heart. Later the remains were released and placed in a tomb.

Polycarp did not deny the Lord, despite the consequence and he had chosen rather to die and receive the crown of glory.

Are you ready to sacrifice your life for the glory of Christ?

WHAT YOU WILL BE - AUTHOR UNKNOWN (I LIKED THIS A LOT)

As I gazed up at the mountains, I was awed by their majesty;
I bowed my head and asked myself, "Why should He care for me?
I am not great like the mountains that tower so high above,
What is there about me that God can find to love?"

"Father, I am not strong like the wind that makes your tall trees sway,
I cannot sing sweetly like your birds; will you love me anyway?
But most of all, I am simply me, and often have cause to fear,
In spite of all my weaknesses, do you promise to be near?"

With eyes closed tight against my tears, I wished He could hear me pray.
Then I felt His Spirit tell me, "Child, look up, I have something to say.
"You are simply you, the spirit I love, a part of my great plan.
I put you here to learn of life and to return to me again."

"You are more beautiful to me than the loveliest mountain I made,
And your strength exceeds that of the wind's, so do not be afraid.
I love you not for what you are, but for what I know you will be.
I am always beside you watching you grow, you are very special to me."

A smile touched my lips - I knew it was true, my Father had always been there
Giving me comfort and blessings and love and my own special talents to share.
So I do my best to make Him proud. I am not afraid, for you see,
He loves me not for what I am, but for what He knows I will be.

GHG - 9 (GOD CHASTENS YOU FOR HE LOVES YOU)

“My son, do not despise the chastening of the Lord, nor detest His correction; for whom the Lord loves He corrects, Just as a Father the son in whom he delights.” – Proverbs 3:11,12

From my childhood days the only thing I hate very much in my life is going to school. I never liked to sit in a school for the entire day. So always I used to tell so many lies to my parents to skip school. I will say like I have stomach pain one day and the other day I will say I have headache and so on. I learned to act very well which my parents started to believe that I was suffering from different pains.

One fine day when I was studying 4th standard I woke up and decided to skip school that day for some reasons. So I started acting as if I am having stomach pain. I continued acting and I thought my parents believed it. The school which I studied was very near to my home. I continued acting till the assembly bell rang and then I stopped acting. Surprisingly my mom found that I was acting and then she immediately dressed me up and she asked my dad to drop me in the school after getting late permission from my teacher.

My father did that and I went to my class that day. But yet I didn’t like sitting there. So again I started my acting there. By the way I acted my teacher got too worried that she don’t know what to do. Finally after some time she had send me to the Head Master for asking permission to go home. I went happily to the Head Master and told him that I have stomach pain. He heard me patiently and then asked me to go to class and lay down there to take rest.

I didn’t expect that he will tell like that. I thought he will send me home. But he decided in the other way. As I walked back very sadly to my class, my teacher asked me about the decision of the Head Master. I simply said a lie to her that Head Master asked me to go home. She was surprised and she asked me to leave to home. I quickly took my bag and then walked towards the entrance of my school.

I am a short little kid at that time. As I walked fast, soon I found myself standing in front of a giant person. As I am a little boy I just raised my head to see who blocked me. To my horror, it was my Head Master. He looked at me so angrily. He asked me that who gave permission to leave the school. I don’t know what to do. I should have accepted my mistake that time. But yet again I decided to tell a lie. So I told my Head Master that the teacher only asked me to leave.

He just caught hold of me in one hand and dragged me back to the class. Without asking the teacher what had happened he begun to scold her badly. Finally after some time she explained to him what happened and they soon understood that I was the culprit. They called my father and told him what all I did that day. My father stood there putting his head down. He was so ashamed of my behavior.

On that evening for the very first time in my life my father scolded me and had beat me a lot. For the first time I am seeing my loving father beating me so angrily. Later with so much love he had explained to me why he had scolded me. That day I understood that I should not lie at all to anyone in my life. If not my father would have chastened me that day, now I might not have become a good person at all. I know he loves me so much but yet I know he corrected me because the wrong was in my side.

My dear young friends, even at times when we do wrong, Jesus Christ correct us by chastening. We should learn not to despise His chastening. He corrects us because He loves us. When He chasten us, we have to spend some more time in His presence to find out what wrong is there in our lives which He hates. Ask His grace to overcome the mistake you did and surely He will give His grace to you. Do not decide to leave God when He chasten you and also do not hate yourself when He chastens you. He does that to correct you for He loves you a lot.

God has a purpose in your life. He will surely fulfil all His promises in your life. Be with God and walk according to His will so that He will bless you abundantly.

I had a teacher who will enter the class room with a cigarette in his hand. He also forces students to buy it for him. I prayed to God that I should escape from that particular teacher. Did Jesus Christ help me to get escape from that teacher?

JUST CALL UPON HIM - TAKEN FROM THE WEB

The boy walked along the ocean shore . . . trying not to stray.
He looked up to his father saying, "Dad, I want to play."

His father looked upon him, with love showing in his eyes.
"Do what you want to, my son . . . but do not leave my side."

"I would never leave you Daddy, I love you way too much."
But the boy took a step away, out of his father's range of touch.

He walked through the surf, the waves tickling one toe.
"If I take one more step in . . ." he thought, "Father will never know."

His father called out to him, "Son, to me remain true!"
The boy thought with glee . . . "At the moment I don't need you!"

His father felt a sadness, but he held his tongue.
Sometimes lessons need to be learned . . . even when so young.

The boy stepped out a little further . . . the water covering his waist.
His father spoke with urgency . . . his father spoke with haste.

"My son, come back to me," he said, "The day is almost done!"
"Not yet, Dad," the boy yelled, "I'm having too much fun!"

But the boy did not have his father's insight so he could not yet tell,
The tide was coming in fast . . . there would be no time to yell.

"Father!" he tried to scream, as the water covered his head.
"I need you now, Daddy!" was what the boy had said.

And in a single instant his father was by his side.
"I thought you left me, Daddy . . . I thought you went to hide."

The father looked upon his son . . . a tear streaming down his cheek.
The boy looked upon his father . . . and cried the sobs of the meek.

"I would never leave you son . . . for I love you just the same."
"I was only waiting . . . for you to call upon my name."

GOD WILL MAKE A WAY - TESTIMONY OF MR.DINESH

I am Dinesh, a final year engineering student. LORD JESUS sustained me in by HIS PRECIOUS GRACE for all the past years. HE carried me to greater heights over all these years for which I am deeply grateful.

As I entered the final year, the usual fear of placement was prevailing among our batch; everyone had the placement fear, everyone talking about placement, preparing for placements with lot of high level aptitude books and so on. As this scene was going on, there I was all alone with nothing in mind about the placement or anything else, not preparing anything as I couldn’t even understand a bit in anything, I just quit everything and was alone not taking part in anything.

It was during this hard time that LORD, one day talked to me regarding the time which we give for HIM, it was during these time that HE took me out of several bondage and several other things which were totally against HIS will. Then I had the peace given by our LORD, and had no questions about life.

GOD was clearly working in my life and could clearly understand that HE has changed me into another person over the due course of time.

As the time for placement arrived , I didn’t know what to do , I just stopped worrying and submitted the things to HIS will and purpose, and also asked the servants of GOD to pray for me and just went on trusting my LORD, who had changed my life completely.

The first company which I had attended was Capegemini. First round results were out, miraculously, I got it cleared. For the GLORY OF GOD, people who are well versed in aptitude couldn’t clear but our GRACIOUS LORD took me on and didn’t put me to shame. Cleared the group discussion round also where I didn’t even open my mouth more than twice. I can clearly and boldly say that it’s purely the GRACE OF GOD.

Now the test of faith, still by THE GRACE OF GOD I went on to the technical interview round, but according to HIS will I couldn’t get through. I was totally down inside and was angry also but just kept on as I’ve already asked GOD that only HIS will should be done. I got many messages from the servants of GOD that HE has better plans for me and I trusted GOD believing that HE has better plans for me. GOD helped me to remain in HIM even though I was the one who backslide very easily.

After this, GOD drew me still closer with HIM, for which I am forever grateful. Then Accenture Company came to our college campus for placements. This time also HE took me through the aptitude test, during this time also many talents in aptitude couldn’t clear it. I still don’t know how I would’ve gone through without HIS GRACE because I am not good at solving aptitudes. ALL GLORY BE TO GOD. In the second round, I just openly told the panel that I was not good at programming. But still, purely by the GRACE of GOD, cleared the second round also and similarly the third round, wherein at the end, GOD PLACED ME IN A MULTI -NATIONAL COMPANY.

I just write this testimony to showcase HIS LOVE for me, because of which HE never forgot me or forsook me. Also to show how wonderfully HE worked in my life, where HE didn’t put me down, where HE didn’t put me to shame anywhere, and fulfilled HIS purpose, knowing what is best for me.

HE knows what is best for us and HE will do that in the right time. Even when I didn’t care about my life, HE cared for me and apart from giving a worldly blessing, HE brought me, the most worthless one, closer to HIM, for which I am so happy.

I thank GOD that HE made me to rejoice in HIM, rather than rejoicing upon the worldly blessing which HE has showered.

Even today you might be facing problems or you might be struggling hard to come up in your life. Get closer to Jesus Christ and tell Him the desires of your heart. He will make a way where there seems to be no way.  Surely He will grant the desires of your heart and He will not put you to shame. God bless you.
