QUOTES ON TOP

“I want something really worthwhile to live for. I want to invest this one life of mine as wisely as possible, in the place that yields the richest profits to the world and me…wherever it is, I want it to be God’s choice for me and not my own… Christ said, “He that would find his life shall lose it” and proved the truth of this divine paradox at Calvary. I want Him to lead me and His Holy Spirit to fill me.” – Betty Stam

JESUS CHRIST CARES FOR YOU SO MUCH. HE WILL REMOVE ALL YOUR BURDENS

“Cast all your anxiety on Him(God) because He cares for you.” – 1 Peter 5:7

You might be carrying a lot of burden upon you and unnecessary worries. Today God wants you to cast all your worries and burden upon Him. Jesus Christ cares for you.

Recently it happened that I have to appear before an audit committee and present my work progress to them. I was told the day before and a great fear filled my heart as my progress was a bit slow. Somehow I told myself that this tension will prevail for the next 24 hours and then we can be fine after the audit.

I tried my best to skip the audit and so I went and asked one of my colleagues about the way of escape. He told me that I have to present myself compulsorily on that day. So I told him that the next 24 hours will be filled with burden and sorrow. To which he told me that I should not worry about it because God has said, Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature?... "Therefore do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your Heavenly Father knows that you need all these things." - Matthew 6:27,31,32.

I have heard that verse several times but I was comforted through that verse on that day. A great peace filled my heart and I had never worried about the audit on that night. By God’s grace the very next day, the audit went on well without any problem.

In Luke chapter 8, we read about a woman who suffered for twelve years with constant bleeding. No one can cure her. She carried the burden for twelve long years. No one could help her. One day she thought that she will place that burden in the feet of God. She ran and fell at the feet of Jesus Christ. She got healed on that day itself. No more sorrows and no more pain in her life. She was absolutely free from her pain.

Today a particular disease might be burdening you. Past guilt might be burdening you. You might have lost the peace because of the financial problems. Your studies seem so tough for you.

Today you might be having any kind of burden. Do not worry. Cast your worries and burden upon Jesus Christ. He knows what you need. He knows your pain, sorrow and suffering. He will never cast you away. He will heal you. He will heal the wound of your heart. He will strengthen you. You will not feel weak anymore. You will overcome trials and temptations. You will be victorious.

My dear young friends, Jesus Christ cares for you. He cares for you so much that He will take away all your burdens. God will set you free.

GOOD ADVICE TO LIVE BY - INSPIRATIONAL ONE LINERS

If you want your dreams to come true, don't oversleep.

The smallest good deed is better than the grandest intention.

Of all the things you wear, your expression is the most important.

The 10 commandments are not multiple choice.

The happiness of your life depends on the quality  of your thoughts.

Minds are like parachutes...they function only when open.

Ideas won't work unless YOU do.

One thing you can't recycle is wasted time.

One who lacks the courage to start has already finished.

The heaviest thing to carry is a grudge.

Don't learn safety rules by accident.

We lie the loudest when we lie to ourselves.

Jumping to conclusions can be bad exercise.

A turtle makes progress when it sticks it's head out.

One thing you can give and still keep...is your word.

SWEET MARRIAGE - 6 (DO NOT TRY TO DO ANYTHING INDEPENDENTLY)

So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate. She also gave to her husband with her, and he ate.” – Genesis 3:6

Eve listened to the serpent’s word and then she saw that the tree was good for food and ate the fruit. Though Adam was in the garden, Eve took all the decision independently. She spoke to the serpent, listened to its voice and then went to the tree, took its fruit and ate. In all this process she never consulted Adam. She did everything independently which affected both Eve and Adam.
If at all she would have taken a decision to consult God and Adam before eating the fruit of the tree which God has told to eat, then their life would have been at peace. But as she did all things without talking to God and Adam, she faced trouble in her relationship with God and Adam.

Even in our life, at times we take decisions independently without the involvement of our spouse and then we get into problem. God wants us to take all the decisions in His presence along with our spouse.

In the month of January, I spoke with a servant of God whom I knew for several years. On that day he spoke to me about a missionary who is working for God in a remote place without much support. He told me that he is sending a monthly offering to him which he collects from his close friends. As he was speaking about the life of that missionary, I felt I also support him with a small amount.

I immediately told the servant of God that from the next month I will send a small amount to him and asked him to send that to the missionary along with the money he usually sends to him.

I had never discussed about this to my wife. Without the knowledge of my wife I had sent that money to him. My wife always wishes to help others in need and she never stood against in sending offering for God’s purpose. I know for sure that she will agree and so I never spoke to her about this.

But then when I had send that money for the second time without her knowledge, Holy Spirit spoke to me and said that what I am doing was not correct. He told me that supporting a missionary or God’s ministry was not wrong but I should have taken that decision by sitting in God’s presence along with my wife. Also He taught me that I should involve my wife also in decision making so that there will be peace in the marriage relationship.

Later I passed the information to my wife and she agreed to what I decided but yet I understood that I should have asked her once before I did that.

My dear young friends, if you are married, do not take any important decision independently. Involve your spouse in decision making. Also take all the decisions in the presence of God so that His presence will lead you safe and God’s mighty hands will protect your marriage life. God’s peace will overflow in your marriage relationship.

JESUS CHRIST WILL BE YOUR EVERLASTING FATHER

For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” – Isaiah 9:6

Two days back I came across a video in which a celebrity was interviewed. The father of the celebrity was a police officer. He died years ago. The celebrity was talking about his father and the threat his father received because of his honesty. He said his father received anonymous calls threatening him that his family will be killed and so on.

The person who was interviewing asked about the fear he carried in his heart as a young child to know his own life is in danger because of his father. He said that he had no fear about his life at that time. To this answer the interviewer was surprised and asked how he crossed that phase without any fear. To which the celebrity replied saying, “I had no fear because I knew my father will take care of everything.”

I was really touched by his answer. The problem that he has faced in his childhood was a bigger one. He went to school always with two policemen since his life was in danger. He knew what was going around him but yet he had no fear because he kept his trust in his earthly father.

If he could trust his ordinary father like that, how much more we should trust our God who is our Everlasting Father. Bible says that our God is an Everlasting Father.

Your earthly father will die one day. He might fail to protect your life. He might have failed to gain any wealth for you. Your earthly father might have died long back. You might be worried so much about your future because you trusted your father thinking that he will be with you till the end.

My dear young friend, today Jesus Christ says to you, “My dear child, do not worry. I will be your Everlasting Father. I will wipe away your tears. I will provide you all that you need. I will bless you richly more than what you have thought. You will have a blessed and joyous future.”

The situations around you might be threatening you. Your whole future might be in danger. Do not get discouraged. Put your trust upon your Heavenly Father. He will never forsake you. He will take care of everything concerning your future. Jesus Christ will not let you cry any longer.
He will be your Everlasting Father. Your sorrows will come to an end.

You are thinking that your present situation will never change and you fear that your future will also be like your present which seems to be a deserted one. But today Jesus Christ promises you saying, “Your future will not be the same. It will be filled with My blessings. You will not lack anything My dear child.”

From today onwards, Jesus Christ will be your Father till the end of your life. He is an unchanging God. He will bless you richly and you will live happily. God bless you.

QUESTIONS REGARDING MARRIAGE (ANSWERS GIVEN BY REV. BILLY GRAHAM) - TAKEN FROM A BOOK

Ques: As far as my girlfriend and I are concerned, marriage is just a piece of paper, and we don't need it to prove we love each other. We've been living together for three years now, and we're perfectly happy the way we are. What would you say to us? — B.H.

Ans:  Dear B.H.,

If marriage were only "a piece of paper," then your position might make sense. We could treat marriage casually, and approach it with a "take it or leave it" attitude. Unfortunately, that's the way many people (including the two of you) see it today.

But have you ever asked yourselves what marriage is in God's eyes? To Him, marriage isn't just a nice social custom or a useful legal arrangement. Instead, it is a divine gift—something He ordained for the human race right from the beginning. God gave marriage to us.

Why did God do this? He did it because He loves us and He wants us to be happy and secure. That's why marriage should not be just a pledge that a husband and wife make to each other, but a solemn vow they make to God. The Bible says, "For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh" (Genesis 2:24).

One thing is missing in your relationship: commitment. Yes, you may well love each other—but without marriage, you are not truly and irrevocably committed to each other. But something else is missing in your lives—and that "something" is God. Don't try to live life without Him any longer, but by faith turn to Christ and make Him the foundation of your lives—and your marriage.
