GOD WILL SET YOU HIGH

“He will set you high above all nations which He has made, in praise, in name, and in honor, and that you may be a holy people to the Lord your God, just as He has spoken.” – Deuteronomy 26:19

Abraham was alone when God called Him but yet He raised him and multiplied him. Moses was an ordinary man but through Him God delivered the Israelites from Egypt. Joseph was one of the twelve sons of Jacob but God had put him in greater authority. David was a shepherd boy but God lifted Him to be a King over His people. Mary was a simple woman but the Lord had chosen her for a holy purpose. 

You might start this year as an ordinary guy or girl. You will not end it like that says Jesus Christ to you.

God has a purpose upon your life. He promises you that this year He will set you high above everyone and fulfill His purpose in your life. 

Recently I heard about a young guy who got spinal cancer. He was an engineering graduate when he got cancer. When he heard that he has cancer his future seems to be so dark to him. Everyone thought that it will be hard for him to come back. That young guy and his family prayed a lot. They admitted him in a private hospital for treatment and God miraculously healed him. Then he completed his post graduate degree in engineering. When he had completed his studies God called him to serve Him. 

Though he was well studied he never argued with God. He just surrendered his life to God’s calling and today he is a church worker among small children and young people in Scotland. Once people around him had thought that he has no future but God raised him before every one and fulfilled His purpose in His life.

My dear young friends, God wants to do mighty things in your life. If you surrender your life to Him in the beginning of this year, you will see God doing greater things in your life. 

Pray well before you start doing anything. You will feel God’s presence leading you safely in all circumstances. You will see God doing everything for you in your job or studies or relationship or marriage life or ministry. You don’t need to carry any burden says Jesus Christ to you. He will carry it for you. He will help you to overcome trials and temptations. Your financial status will improve. You will excel in your spiritual life. It is possible for God to change your life. He will do greater things for you in this year. Just surrender everything in His hands and cling on to Him. He will bless you richly.

GOD WILL FULFILL ALL THOSE THINGS THAT HE HAS PROMISED YOU

“Blessed is she who believed, for there will be a fulfilment of those things which were told her from the Lord.” – Luke 1:45

In 2 Kings 6:24 we read that Ben-Hadad king of Syria gathered all his army and went up and besieged Samaria. So there was a great famine in Samaria. Days got so worse that a lady came to the king saying that she had eaten her son along with another woman. 

With so much anger the King had sent a man to Elisha to ask him why he has to wait for the Lord in such kind of adverse situation. The king had lost all his hope. At that time God’s word came through Elisha saying “‘Tomorrow about this time a seah of fine flour shall be sold for a shekel, and two seahs of barley for a shekel, at the gate of Samaria.’” (2 Kings 7:1)

There was an officer who was standing nearby heard what God said and answered Elisha that it will not be possible even if God make windows in heaven. He could not believe the word of God. 

But as we read further we can understand that the very next day the Lord has caused the army of the Syrians to hear the noise of chariots, horses and great army so that they had fled immediately. 

Within a day God had changed the situation upside down as He had promised through Elisha. The officer who doubted God’s word saw the fulfilment of that but yet he died without enjoying the blessing that God has provided. 

The people of Samaria went out and plundered the tents of Syrians. Everyone in Samaria saw the fulfilment of God’s word.

My eldest brother could not get a job when he completed his engineering degree long back. The first job he got was for a salary of Rs.2000 per month. He struggled a lot with that salary but yet he had kept his trust upon God. My parents prayed a lot and God promised that He will raise him up to higher positions. When he heard that it was far beyond his understanding. 

After few years God gave him a job in another city. My brother got a good salary this time and he was so happy about it. One day God spoke to him through a servant of God that He will increase his salary double fold. As my brother was getting a good salary which was enough for him and his family he was happy about his life but as God promised He gave him a job in a big company and now he was getting a salary exactly double the salary he got from his previous job.

My dear young friends, you might be going through poverty or famine of troubled situation. Have faith in the promise given by God to Him. Jesus Christ will fulfil all that He has promised you. The people of Samaria thought that they will not live for another day. But God promised them that He will change the situation and they will live. Indeed God fulfilled His promise the very next day. He will do that in your life. You will be blessed as God promised to you. Do not get discouraged about your present life situation. 

He might have promised so many things to you in the beginning of this year but till now you might not have seen any signs of fulfilment. Do not fear. He who has promised you will definitely fulfil His promises in your life. Jesus Christ will fight for you and He will bless you richly. You will see the fulfilment of God’s promises in your life and you will enjoy the blessings that He is going to give you.

GOD'S PROMISE FOR THE MONTH OF DECEMBER'15

VIRTUOUS WOMAN - 1 (DO WHAT GOD ASK YOU TO DO)

“The Angel of the Lord said to her, “Return to your mistress, and submit yourself under her hand.” – Genesis 16:9

Abraham’s wife Sarah had an Egyptian maid servant whose name was Hagar. Sarah was barren and so she thought of getting a child through her servant. So she gave Hagar as wife to Abraham. Soon Hagar conceived. 

Hagar was a servant woman but Sarah gave her a good position but yet when she saw that she had conceived she despised her mistress who gave her a good life.  Sarah could not bear this and so she begun to dealt with her harshly. Hagar decided to flee from the presence of Sarah. 

Though she was pregnant, she ran away from Sarah to a far place. One thing that happened next was interesting. The Angel of the Lord found Hagar in a particular place and asked her to go back and be submissive to her mistress Sarah.

If you see in a human perspective the word that came from the Lord to Hagar through the Angel was a tough one. How come God can ask her to go back and be submissive to the one who has dealt harshly with her? 

God asked and Hagar simply obeyed God’s word without any argument. She should have argued with God but yet she had not done that. She had returned back to Sarah and submitted herself to her through which she actually had submitted her life to God’s plan.

Being a woman how are you reacting to a harsh situation? Your in-laws might be dealing with you harshly or your husband himself might not understand your pain. You might be working and your boss or the one who is in authority might be dealing with you in a harsh way for no reason.

Because of those people you might have a feeling to run away from your family responsibilities or resign from your job. Your teachers or your friends might behave with you in a tough way and so you might hate your studies. 

How will you react if an Angel of God meet you today and ask you to be submissive to your in-laws or husband or boss or some other one. You might have thousands of reasons to tell the Angel that why you can’t be submissive. Hagar never said a word. God knows the pain and affliction of Hagar. That’s why He told her that He has heard her affliction but yet He asked her to be submissive to Sarah.

You might see the present situation of your life but God sees the whole plan of your life. If God wants you to be submissive to your mother in law or father in law, be submissive without arguing and putting forth your reasons before Him. If God wants you to be submissive to your husband, be submissive. If God wants you to be submissive to your head of the workplace, be submissive without speaking any word against that authority. 

You might see the current situation where you are facing tough times but God sees the whole plan of your life. He knows that Hagar and her son will live if they live under the care of Abraham and so He asked her to be submissive to Sarah. Hagar obeyed God’s word and she and her son lived without any problem till her son grew up to a certain age. God fulfilled His promise in the life of Hagar’s son and they multiplied. 

If you depend on God’s word you will multiply and you will live. But if you depend on your own ego, you will perish. Ask God that how you should behave to your in-laws, husband or the one who is in higher authority. Obey what God ask you to do. Then you will be a wise woman and through you, your family and others will be blessed. 

I know a young girl who got married recently. Her husband loved her a lot but her in-laws treated her in a different way. She could not stay in that house when her husband was not there. She struggled a lot and later she got a counselling from someone asking her to accept her in-laws just as they are and be submissive to them. She took that advice and started to love her in-laws. Now she is pregnant and living a happy life as a family. 

Be a wise woman by obeying what God ask you to do. You will be blessed and you will be a blessing.
