“But His disciples said to Him, “You see the multitude
thronging You, and You say, ‘Who touched Me?’” - Mark 5:31
In Mark 5 we read
about a woman who had a flow of blood for twelve long years. She was suffering
for twelve years. No physicians could help and heal her. She had spent all that
she had hoping that she will receive healing. Her condition grew worse. During
that time, she heard about Jesus Christ. She went behind Him
and touched His garment and immediately her bleeding stopped. She felt that she
was healed of the affliction. Her suffering came to an end.
Jesus Christ turned
around and asked, “Who touched Me?” The disciples replied to Him saying, “You
see the multitude thronging You, and You say, ‘Who touched Me?’”
On that day when that
particular woman got healed, many people were thronging Jesus. Multitude were thronging
Jesus but yet only one could touch Jesus and receive blessing from Him.
Multitudes were
thronging and pressing Jesus but yet that particular woman touched Jesus in
such a way that Jesus Christ Himself felt that power had gone out of Him.
Those multitudes didn’t
receive any blessing but that particular woman got healed and received blessing
because she touched God.
Are you the one who
just throng Jesus Christ and end up without receiving any blessing or are you
the one who touch God and receive His blessing? You have to think and analyse.
Simply by saying that
I am a Christian you can’t receive any blessing. You have to touch God through
your prayer, tears and deeds.
Learn to touch God’s
heart so that His power will flow into your life and you will receive what you
long for.
Another important
character of that woman is told in Mark
5:28, “For she said, “If only I may touch His clothes, I shall be made well.”
She had a doubt
whether she could touch the garment of Jesus Christ but she had a sure faith
that she will be made well if she touch His clothes. Though she had doubt in
the process of touching His clothes she had no doubt in receiving a healing.
She had a tremendous faith upon Jesus Christ.
That’s the reason
Jesus said to her in Mark 5:34, “...“Daughter, your faith has made you
well. Go in peace, and be healed of your affliction.”
She had faith and with
her faith she touched God’s heart and received the blessing that she longed for
so many years.
My dear young friends,
have faith upon Jesus Christ. Continue to pray and walk according to His will.
You will see God’s power flowing into your life. You will receive God’s
blessing in abundance.
