“Unless
the God of my father, the God of Abraham and the Fear of Isaac, had been with
me…” – Genesis 31:42
“…And
Jacob swore by the Fear of his father Isaac.” – Genesis 31:52
When
Jacob referred God, he does that with a new name, Fear of Isaac. Through the
words of Jacob we could able to understand the life of Isaac.
Isaac
had fear of God all through his life and it had greatly impacted the life of
Jacob and so he says that the Lord Almighty is the Fear of his father
Isaac.
Do
we have the fear of the Lord in our life? Do someone in our family can testify
like Jacob testified about his father?
Today
Holy Spirit wants us to analyse our life. Our life should be filled with the
fear of the Lord.
Hebrews
5:7 says, “who, in the days of His flesh, when He had offered up prayers and
supplications, with vehement cries and tears to Him who was able to save Him
from death, and was heard because of His godly fear”
Jesus
Christ was heard because of His godly fear. If Jesus Christ lived in this earth
with godly fear upon His Father, how much more we should live for God and serve
Him with godly fear!
