QUOTES ON TOP

“I want something really worthwhile to live for. I want to invest this one life of mine as wisely as possible, in the place that yields the richest profits to the world and me…wherever it is, I want it to be God’s choice for me and not my own… Christ said, “He that would find his life shall lose it” and proved the truth of this divine paradox at Calvary. I want Him to lead me and His Holy Spirit to fill me.” – Betty Stam

GOD CARES AND YOU WILL NOT PERISH

Yesterday night got a call from one of a person whom I knew for many years. He was like a younger brother to me. As I spoke to him I could feel that he was filled with so much sorrow. His wife was carrying their second child but unfortunately the child died in her womb itself.

He told me that they went to the 9th month check up only few days before and doctors told that everything was normal. But after three days for reasons unknown, the child has died in the womb itself. He had returned to his work place yesterday only after burying the child. As he narrated the incident, he wept so badly.

As a couple they had great expectation about their child who is going to be born. But all their expectations and dreams were taken off in a moment. He said to me that even after the doctors report he believed that somehow God will restore the child. Nothing like that happened.

He wept and wept but then I found that his faith upon God was so strong even in the troublesome moment.

Sometimes in our life we expect good things to happen in our life. But then sorrow and trouble comes into our life. At times we were filled with so many blessings and all in a moment, one day everything might be taken off from our life as it happened to Job.

But in such moments when we could not hear or feel God what we should do?  I just want to write about two important things that we need to do.

1.      Praise God in all the situations.
Job lost everything he had in one moment. He lost his health, wealth and all children. But then he said, “…The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away. Blessed be the name of the Lord.”- Job 1:21. He stood firm to praise God and God rewarded him with double fold blessing.
Praise God even while you face troubles. God will come into your life and will change your life situations.

2.      Do not lose your faith.
In Mark 4:35-41 we read that great storm arose and waves beat into the boat in which the disciples of Jesus travelling. Jesus was asleep in the boat. They saw the situation and fear filled their heart. They lost their faith. Jesus stood up and rebuked the wind. Then He asked His disciples, “How is it that you have no faith?”
Jesus expected that they have to hold onto their faith even in life threatening situation. Even today God expects the same from us.
Do not lose your faith. Trust God in all circumstance.

One important truth that you have to understand is even when you go through tough moment God cares. In Mark 4:38, the disciples of Jesus ran to Him and asked, “…Teacher, do you not care that we are perishing?”

My dear young friends, even in our life, we ask God the same question. Today you might be having the same kind of question. But God wants you to know that He cares for you. God cares for His disciples. He knew that even situation gets far worse it’s not impossible for Him to change the situation. God is in control of everything. He could calm the storm in a moment. He cares for you and He says to you today that you will not perish in this situation for He will work and bring back the blessing, peace and the joy you had lost. You will be blessed more than your expectation.

SLEEP - AN INSPIRATIONAL TOUCHING POEM FROM "VALLEY OF VISIONS"

Blessed Creator,
Thou hast promised Thy beloved sleep;
Give me restoring rest needful for tomorrow’s toil.
If dreams be mine, let them not be tinged with evil.

Let Thy Spirit make my time of repose a blessed temple of His holy presence.
May my frequent lying down make me familiar with death,
the bed I approach remind me of the grave,
the eyes I now close picture to me their final closing.

Keep me always ready, waiting for admittance to Thy presence.
Weaken my attachment to earthly things.
May I hold life loosely in my hand,
knowing that I receive it on condition of its surrender. …

I retire this night in full assurance of one day awaking with Thee.
All glory for this precious hope,
for the gospel of grace,
for Thine unspeakable gift of Jesus,
for the fellowship of the Trinity.

Withhold not Thy mercies in the night season;
Thy hand never wearies,
Thy power needs no response,
Thine eye never sleeps.
Help me when I helpless lie. …
when my conscience accuses me of sin,
when my mind is harassed by foreboding thoughts,
when my eyes are held awake by personal anxieties.
Show Thyself to me as the God of all grace, love and power. …
Permit me to commit myself to Thee awake or asleep.

YOU SHALL SEE DISASTER NO MORE

“The Lord has taken away your judgments; He has cast out your enemy. The King of Israel, the Lord, is in your midst; You shall see disaster no more." - Zephaniah 3:15

You might be filled with fear right now worrying something might happen to you that has happened in the past. The situations that you are facing today might be too tough to handle and you might feel a void in your heart and mind.

Today God promises to you that you will not see disaster any more. Whatever that happened in the past was gone. Your past guilt, wound, failures will not affect the blessings that God has in store for your future. God is with you.

In II Samuel chapter 11 we read about how David yielded himself into a temptation. He committed adultery with Bathsheba. Then he killed Uriah, her husband. The thing David did displeased God. And then God had sent a prophet to David. When Nathan, the prophet told a story to David, at the end of it David burned with anger and said the man who did wrong should be killed.

David brought judgment upon himself through his words. But yet God spared his life and took the life of the child which was born to him.

His heart would have filled with guilt. He knew what he did was wrong. But then again Bathsheba got pregnant. Surely David would have got so many thoughts. He might have feared whether the next child will live or die.

A child was born and Bible says that the Lord loved that child. God blessed the child with wisdom and wealth. When David came to know that through that child God will build His temple, his heart would have rejoiced as a father. His fear and worries would have gone.

Even today something which you have committed and did in the past might be haunting you. Your heart might have filled with guilt. You might feel like the situation and worries will prevail in the coming days also. You are filled with a great fear about your present situation and you might feel like that there is no hope for your future.

But today God says to you that He loves you and He will no longer remember your sins. For a moment it seems that God might have forsaken you but today Holy Spirit says to you that God is with you and you will not see disaster any more. In the same situation which brings fear into your heart, God will do wonders. You will see God blessing you with greater blessing. You will be filled with His peace and joy. You will live.
