QUOTES ON TOP

“I want something really worthwhile to live for. I want to invest this one life of mine as wisely as possible, in the place that yields the richest profits to the world and me…wherever it is, I want it to be God’s choice for me and not my own… Christ said, “He that would find his life shall lose it” and proved the truth of this divine paradox at Calvary. I want Him to lead me and His Holy Spirit to fill me.” – Betty Stam

GHG SHORT DEVOTIONALS - 16 (GIVE PRIORITY TO GOD'S WILL IN YOUR LIFE)

And it happened when He was in a certain city, that behold, a man who was full of leprosy saw Jesus; and he fell on his face and implored Him, saying, "Lord, if you are willing, You can make me clean."- Luke 5:12

What a wonderful prayer this leper made! He is a leper. Bible says He was full of leprosy. He was thrown out from the society. No one wanted him. He was alone in a very desperate state. He never led a normal life. He needs a healing. He is desperately in need of healing. He believed that Jesus could heal him and so he came running to Jesus and fell on his face and begged Jesus.

But the prayer was not a normal prayer. He should have prayed like Lord, heal me. He never prayed like that though he was in a desperate state. Even in that desperate state, that leper made a very beautiful prayer putting God’s will in front and his desire behind. He said Lord, if you are willing, make me clean. A submissive prayer completely surrendered to God’s will. A healing touch of Jesus would change his life completely. He knew that. But he gave importance to God’s will.

1.      How are we praying today? Are we putting our desperate needs before God’s will? Are we praying in a selfish way? Today God wants us to surrender to His will completely.

Jesus prayer was recorded in Luke 22:42 in which He had put God’s will in priority than His own wish. “…Father, if it is Your will, take this cup away from Me; nevertheless not My will, but Yours, be done.”

2.      You might be in a tough situation. You might be carrying a burden that you can’t able to bear. You need a miracle desperately. So you might be praying for it. But today Holy Spirit wanted me to say to you that you should pray for the fulfilment of God’s will in your life and not for the fulfilment of your wish. Your prayer should change. Do not run behind worldly blessings. Run for the fulfilment of God’s will in your life. God will definitely give you what you need and also you will be a blessing to many. God wants you to know that you are called for a special purpose.

GHG SHORT DEVOTIONALS - 15 (GOD WILL DO GREAT THINGS IN YOUR LIFE)

Mark 5:22 And behold, one of the rulers of the synagogue came, Jairus by name. And when he saw Him, he fell at His feet.

Though his twelve year old daughter was dying, Jairus preferred to leave her and ran to Jesus. If he would have stayed at the bed side of his dying daughter, he would have lost his daughter.

1. Do not try to solve your life problem through your own strength. Run to Jesus and seek His help. He will not forsake you.

He ran to Jesus and fell at His feet. Jairus was one of the rulers of synagogue but yet he humbled himself before God.

2. Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up. (James 4:10)

Jesus went with Jairus to heal his daughter.

3. Even today God wants you to know that He has heard your prayers and He will grant the desires of your heart.

While they were on their way, someone came from the Jairus house and said, "Your daughter is dead. Why trouble the Teacher any further?"

In the worldly perspective it was all over as the daughter of Jairus was dead.

4. Sometimes you see the situation of your life and you think that it was all over. Do not look into the situations but look to the Great God who walks with you for He can bring the dead to life.

God will give life to the dead organs of your body. He will bring life to the dead hopes of your life. Your spiritual life will be restored. Have faith in God at all circumstances. Expect great things from God says Holy Spirit to you.

GHG SHORT DEVOTIONALS - 14 (GOD WILL TAKE AWAY YOUR REPROACH AMONG PEOPLE)

“…this is now the sixth month for her who was called barren.” – Luke 1:36

Elizabeth was righteous before God and blameless. She was old but had no child as she was barren. Bible records that she was called barren.

1.   Even today you might be living a life righteous before God but yet you might not have received the blessing that you are longing to receive. Today God promises you that you will receive what you long for.

2.   You might be spiritually barren. You want to do something for God but yet you are failing again and again in your spiritual life. Today God says that He will establish you to carry His power. God’s power that is going to be revealed through you will touch many in nations.

Elizabeth was called barren but her life doesn’t end that way.

3.   The struggles, problems and troubles that you are facing today will not last longer. Whatever you fear will not happen to you. God will hear your prayers and bless you.

God heard her prayers and blessed her with a child. After that no one called her barren. She was once called as barren woman and her life ended as mother to John the Baptist, one of the greatest prophets.

This is now the sixth month for her who was called barren. What a powerful verse it is! No one will call her a failure anymore. No one will call her a barren woman anymore. No one will mock at her anymore. Her grief and sorrow came to an end. God has taken away her reproach among people. He will do the same to you.

4.   Your life’s situation will change. He will raise you and those who called you barren will come to you and they will rejoice with you. God will do this in your life as nothing is impossible with God.
