QUOTES ON TOP

“I want something really worthwhile to live for. I want to invest this one life of mine as wisely as possible, in the place that yields the richest profits to the world and me…wherever it is, I want it to be God’s choice for me and not my own… Christ said, “He that would find his life shall lose it” and proved the truth of this divine paradox at Calvary. I want Him to lead me and His Holy Spirit to fill me.” – Betty Stam

ARE YOU GOING THROUGH SORROW AND PAIN? CALL UPON GOD

“Call upon Me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall glorify Me." - Psalm 50:15

This morning as I was travelling by bus to my work place, I was thinking about the problems that I am facing. Certain problem that was happening around me has given so much pain in my heart. I do not know what to do about those problems and also what will happen because of those problems. I could not get a solution as I kept on thinking about the problem.

After few minutes, I began to think about the activities that my little daughter was doing in home. Yesterday night she got some pain in her body it seems. Once she felt the difference, she immediately told, “Jesus Daddy its paining.” She repeated the same statement and then went to play.

As I was thinking about that I began to smile and then Holy Spirit spoke to me and said, “My son that’s what you have to do. When it’s paining a lot, just call Jesus.”

Many a times in our life when we face troubles we forget to call upon God. We put our entire focus upon the problems and the troubles that we are facing and then we are carried away by our sorrows.

But God wants us to call upon Him in the day of trouble. When you feel that it is the end, call upon God. When you feel it is too much for you to handle, call upon God. When you feel it’s paining, call upon God.

Psalmist says in Psalm 116:2 and 18:3, “Because He has inclined His ear to me, Therefore I will call upon Him as long as I live.”

“I will call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised; so shall I be saved from my enemies."

My dear young friend, when you face situations that seems to be so tough to you, call upon God. God has inclined His ears to your prayers that you have made before and saved you. Even now when you call upon God He will hear your prayers and deliver you from all kinds of troubles. God will take control of the situations that troubles you. God will fight against your enemies to save you. God will do everything for you. As you call upon God, your heart will get filled with God’s peace.

YOU MIGHT BE DESPISED, WEAK AND A FOOLISH ONE. REJOICE. GOD HAS CHOSEN YOU

“But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty.” 1 Corinthians 1:27

Yesterday I was called to preach in a small village church. God gave me a promise to speak to that people and so I happily went to share God’s word. There I met the elder of the church and the pastor.

The pastor conducted the worship and then he asked the elder to read out a chapter from Psalms and also asked him to share a thought from that. The elder started to read a particular chapter and as I watched him, I noticed that he made so many mistakes while reading.

He struggled a lot to read that chapter and I was thinking like what he is doing. Once he finished reading, he started to share a thought from that particular chapter. As he begun to share God’s word from that passage, a lady who was sitting in the front begun to weep. Whatever he shared was a short abstract of the message that God has asked me to share with them and I could feel the power of God’s Spirit flowing through him in such a way that it touched the heart of that woman and she begun to cry. I could understand that God spoke to her through him.

When I was returning back, I was thinking how God can use such a man who can’t even read a verse properly. The answer I got was: It’s impossible with men but it’s possible with God.

God can use a nobody to bring glory to His name. He doesn’t need a qualified or a well studious person to share His word or to do His work. Bible says that God has chosen the foolish and weak things of the world to put to shame the wise and the mighty.

God chooses the despised ones to bring glory to His name. The disciples of Jesus Christ were not qualified people but yet God called them and He made them qualified and did mighty things through them.

My dear young friends, you might be despised by many. You might feel like you are a foolish man or foolish woman. You might feel like you are weak. Do not get discouraged. God has chosen you and He will do mighty things through you. Just surrender yourself to God and yield to His will. He will take you in His hands and will glorify His name through you. Many people and nations will receive God’s blessing through you.

“...Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ Says the Lord of hosts.” – Zechariah 4:6

SWEET MARRIAGE - 14 (DO NOT LEAVE YOUR SPOUSE AND DO NOT RUN AWAY FROM YOUR MARRIAGE RELATIONSHIP)

How much better to get wisdom than gold! And to get understanding is to be chosen rather than silver.” – Proverbs 16:16

One of my uncle, when he was young, he got into bad habits and got addicted to it. Soon he got married. His wife (my aunt) was one of the best women I had ever met. My uncle used to beat my aunt a lot but yet she had never raised her voice against him. She just endured all the hardships with so much patience. Later they got two sons but my uncle used to humiliate her at all times. Often I feel so pity for her situation. Her parents knew what she was going through and so they hated my uncle a lot.

Few months before my uncle got terribly ill. When they went to a doctor, they came to know that his liver was damaged because of excessive liquor usage. His condition grew worse and so the doctors told that the only way for him to survive is to undergo liver transplant.

They tried to get a donor for him but could not find one. At last the doctors found that my aunt’s liver was the perfect match for my uncle. So they told her that her husband will live if she donates part of her liver.

As soon as this information reached my aunt’s parents, they came to her so furiously and said, “It’s better that he dies so that you can live peacefully in this world. So do not say yes to the operation.”

As I said before my uncle has great love for his wife but yet he had never shown her that. He always love to be the dominant decision maker in everything. It’s true that he had not treated my aunt well.

But then when all her relations advised her not to donate her liver to her husband, she prayed and said yes to the operation. Everyone around her was so angry at her but she went through the painful process of operation with so much patience and calm for her husband who was not that much loving to her. By God’s grace both of them were alive now and they are living together in peace.

What if my aunt heeded to the counsel of her parents and said no to the operation? If she had said no, then by this time my uncle would not be alive. But yet she showed love and compassion to her husband though he is not worthy of it. Now both of them were together and she was happy that her husband is alive. She never ran away when her husband was in distress. That's the important thing we have to understand. She stayed with him and faced the situation along with him and also helped him.

You can very easily love your spouse who is so loving to you and who is so good at everything. But today I just want to place a question before you. Can you love your spouse with her/his weakness though you feel right now that he/she is unworthy of your love?

God wants you to love your spouse at any cost. Bible says in Matthew 19:6, “So then, they are no longer two but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let not man separate.”

It was God who has united you and He wants you to stay together at all situations. If your spouse has any weakness, do pray for them sincerely. God will answer your prayers. But do not decide to go in separate ways. It is not God’s will or purpose in your life that you have to go away from your spouse. God wants you to raise a generation for His glory. So love your spouse and stay united.

FEAR NOT FOR GOD IS WITH YOU AND WILL HELP YOU

For the past few months the audio system in our car was not working at all. I thought of repairing it immediately but could not do that. But few weeks back, I went to a shop and they asked me to replace the audio system entirely. So I had selected a new audio system and replaced the old one. The new one was costly but yet I had no other option.

After few days, I had to go to a place with my wife and my daughter. My wife was happy that the audio system was working and so she asked me to play her favourite CD. The system worked fine for few minutes and then the CD begun to get struck in between.

My wife got sad and she was afraid that she could not hear her favourite song anymore. On the other side I was afraid thinking that I have to spend some more money if I have to repair that again. We both were afraid.

My wife took the CD out and she cleaned it. Then before she inserted that into the audio player, she simply asked my 20 month old daughter to pray to Jesus so that the system works fine.

Immediately our daughter replied, “You should not fear”. She said it in such a way that it touched my Spirit so deeply and immediately my all fears went away. Then the player worked well and to this day there was no problem.

There were times we look at the situation around us and we were afraid. Sometimes we think that we are going to perish.

If we read Matthew 8:23-27 and Mark 4:35-41, we could understand the fear of the disciples of Jesus Christ. The boat in which they were travelling was swept over by waves. They thought that they were going to perish and die. Jesus was there with them in their boat. But yet they feared. Jesus rebuked the wind and then the wind died down and it was completely calm. Jesus asked the disciples why they were so afraid.

My dear young friends, even when you go through tough times in which you think that you are going to drown or perish, Fear not. You should not fear because God is with you and He will help you.

Do not be afraid for anything.  Your situations might seem to be so impossible to you but yet nothing is impossible to God. He will do wonders in your life. God is in control and that is why He is telling you today, “My dear child, Fear not. I will be with you and help you.”

Rejoice in God’s presence. God will not forsake you. He will put your enemies to shame and He will lift your head. The problems that you are facing right now will die down and you will feel God’s peace filling your life. There will be no trouble. “There will be a great calmness in your life in the coming days”, says God to you.
