“And because
lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold.” – Matthew 24:12
Recently several thousand people
died in North India because of unrelenting downpour, landslides and flood.
Several people who died were pilgrims who went to visit temple. Government says
that more than ten thousand people might have died but news report says that
there will be more death count.
The first question that came in my
mind was that about what’s happening around us? The surprising news was the
local village people in that flood affected area used this opportunity to loot
the stranded pilgrims. The news report says that food was sold for two hundred
rupees and nearly 17 lakh rupees were robbed from the pilgrims and so on. Some
used this opportunity to sexually assault the women who lost their way in the
nearby area. Even after so many days of that incident rescue measures was going
on.
How someone could do like this to
the fellow human beings who got affected severely? Bible clearly tells us that
in the last days the love of many will grow cold. I think we are reaching the
last days as we see the things happening around us. One of the prophet of God
in India had already told that God has told him that He had given command to
the Angels of water to destroy.
We have to humble ourselves in the
presence of God and we have to ask forgiveness for the sins of our nation and
we have to shed tears for our nation or else we will surely face the judgement
of God.
The second question I got in my mind
was about the destination of these souls. In India several people dies during
the pilgrimage season. Most of them die because of the accidents, landslides
and stampede. As they go away to worship idols what will happen when they die? Surely
they will end up in hell.
Being a son and daughter of God, we
have to seriously think about it. Souls are God’s wealth. You are God’s child.
God is your Father. You should not simply sit and watch when Devil tries to
steal your Father’s wealth. You should use the opportunity given by Jesus
Christ to share the gospel with others around you. We are accountable and one
day our Father Jesus Christ will ask us the account. On that day will you stand
in front of Him putting your head down or up? You have to decide. You are
called by Jesus Christ for His work.
Jesus Christ says in
Matthew 9:37, “The harvest truly is plentiful, but the labourers are few.” And He is asking us
to pray about it.
My dear young friends, pray to Jesus
Christ for the souls that were going astray around you and in your nation. Take
responsibility in prayer and pray with tears.
You might be continuously praying
for someone to be saved for several days. Jesus Christ will hear your prayer
and will save them.
You might have received the calling
from Jesus Christ to be His servant but you might have left Him by falling into
the temptations. Today Jesus Christ is calling you back. If you come to Him, He
will establish you and will use you for His glory.
Let us all take a resolution to pray
for unsaved souls. Also let us all reveal God’s love to others through our
life. God bless you.
