“...I
will not leave you until I have done what I have spoken to you.” –
Genesis 28:15
Years ago, a
particular young man committed a mistake when he was working in a reputed
organization. Before that he was counselling many young people in his workplace
too and they loved him a lot. At the same time few of his colleagues were
jealous about him and waited for a chance to put him down. As he committed a
mistake, everyone came against him and hated him to the core. Even his
department head was against him.
That young man could
not bear the sorrow at all. As he was crying to God, he got a promise from God that
he will remain in the same workplace whereas those people who came against him
will be taken out from that place. He could not believe that at all as they
were senior people and he was a junior. But yet he kept his trust upon God and
had hold on to His promise.
Within few months God
removed those who stood against him and also the head of the department from
the organization where he was working. But yet one of his senior colleagues
continued to mock at him indirectly whenever she meets and talk with him. At
times, her words used to hurt him so badly. He had never spoken about that to
anyone but prayed to God. His tears were only known to God. Years passed but
there was no sign of redemption. As she was the senior most in that department,
he thought that she will remain till he leaves that place.
But then God has never
forgotten what He has promised to him. One day she resigned from that organization.
Before leaving the organization she has to submit a no due form signed by all
the authorities including the head of the department where they worked. As she
went to get sign from the Head of the department, she found that he was on leave.
To her surprise that young man was given the responsibility of the Head on that
day. When she asked him to sign, his heart was filled with joyful tears as he
had never thought that he will sign on her form before she leaves.
Once she mocked that
young guy and she thought that he will soon leave that place. But God had never
forsaken him. He made him to put the sign in her no due form and that was the
last sign she had ever got from that department. He lifted his head before his
enemies.
He will do the same to
you. People around you might be mocking you unnecessarily. They might be
pointing your past mistakes and try to put you down. Do not get discouraged.
Hold on to God’s promise. He will never forsake you.
God promised Abraham
that He will bless him greatly and He fulfilled that in his life.
God promised Jacob
that He will be with him and will keep him wherever he goes. God kept him safe
and protected him from his own brother and others who thought of doing harm to
him in some way or other.
God promised Gideon
that He will deliver the Israelites from the hands of Midianites through him.
He could not believe that at all and he asked for repeated confirmation. God
saved the people of Israel through Gideon and did what He promised to him.
My dear young friends,
God’s promise will never fail. He will be with you and fulfil all that He has
promised you. Today the situation might be different but yet He remembers what
He has promised you and He will wipe away all your tears by fulfilling what He
has promised you. So rejoice in God and trust Him. You might be a little one
but do not worry because the One who has promised you is greater and mightier. He
will do everything for you. You will see God doing wonders and mighty things in
your life.
