“I want something really worthwhile to live for. I want to invest this one life of mine as wisely as possible, in the place that yields the richest profits to the world and me…wherever it is, I want it to be God’s choice for me and not my own… Christ said, “He that would find his life shall lose it” and proved the truth of this divine paradox at Calvary. I want Him to lead me and His Holy Spirit to fill me.” – Betty Stam

EVEN THOUGH YOU ARE WEAK. GOD WILL USE YOU

Bible says in I Corinthians 1:27-29 “But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty; and the base things of the world and the things which are despised God has chosen, and the things which are not, to bring to nothing the things that are, that no flesh should glory in His presence.”

Bakht Singh was a reluctant evangelist and preacher. Shortly after his conversion, he attended a small meeting of Christians. A man asked him where he was from and Bakht Singh told him he was from India. At the end of the meeting, the man announced to the group that someone from India was going to speak to them. The man took him to the front of the group and introduced him. Bakht Singh was quite shy and had never preached before. He looked down and muttered something softly. He told them he was a sinner and the Lord had saved him. He did not think anyone heard him, and after speaking, he ran out. He became angry and promised himself that he would never go back there again. One of the men on the same platform with him ran out after him. “God bless you,” he said. “Your testimony was of great blessing to me.” This man later became Bakht Singh’s best friend. The thought then came to Bakht Singh that maybe the Lord was able to use even the weakest creature.

Another time a man asked him to come to their church and speak to them next Sunday. Bakht Singh told him that he was not a preacher, but the man said, “We want a man from India to speak.” Bakht Singh reluctantly agreed. He went, not knowing what he would say. As he stood to speak, he began to tremble. He looked up and prayed, “Lord have mercy upon me and touch my lips and enable me to speak.” The words came slowly; he stuttered and stammered at first, but then began to speak loudly. A man ran up to him afterwards and said, “The Lord send you to comfort me.” Bakht Singh did not know how the words came to him that day. He had not read any books nor done any public speaking and he was very shy.

Later Bakht Singh became a powerful servant of God spreading the Gospel all over India.

My dear young friend, If God can raise a weakest man to a powerful servant of His, He can also raise you high whatever your weakness may be. So don’t get discouraged about your limitations and your weakness. Your weakness will never limit the power of God. He is all powerful God whose grace will be sufficient for you to overcome the weakness you have. You might be struggling today with the weakness of lust and sin. Surrender yourself to God and ask for His help. He will pour out His grace in your life and will raise you high. Today you might be nothing. But God promises you today that He will raise you high in your job; in your spiritual life; in your studies and in everything you do. God loves you and He will give you His strength. God will go before you and remove all the hurdles of your life and will use you for His glory. “You shall not be put to shame” says Holy Spirit to you.
