“I want something really worthwhile to live for. I want to invest this one life of mine as wisely as possible, in the place that yields the richest profits to the world and me…wherever it is, I want it to be God’s choice for me and not my own… Christ said, “He that would find his life shall lose it” and proved the truth of this divine paradox at Calvary. I want Him to lead me and His Holy Spirit to fill me.” – Betty Stam

ASK AND YOU WILL RECEIVE AND YOUR JOY WILL BE COMPLETE

“….. Ask and you will receive, and your joy will be complete.” – John 16:24

In the time of Herod king of Judea there was a couple named Zechariah and Elizabeth. They were righteous in the sight of the Lord and they were very old. Even though they were righteous they din’t have a child.

Zechariah was a priest and they served the God truly and diligently. They migh have been happy because God gave them the grace to serve Him truly. But yet their joy was not complete because their heart desired for a child. They kept on praying to God for a child. God’s time came and He answered their prayers and gave them a child.

But the angel said to him: “Do not be afraid, Zechariah; your prayer has been heard. Your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son, and you are to call him John. He will be a joy and delight to you, and many will rejoice because of his birth.” – Luke 1:13,14

As they kept on asking to God, they received what they had asked for and their joy was complete. Not only they rejoiced but others also rejoice because of the birth of their child. What a blessing God gave them!

Even today you might be longing for a blessing. Even after several years of your marriage you might not had conceived a child. You want to get married but you might not have got married till now. You might be longing for a promotion or job but you might not have received it so far.

Let not your heart be trouble. Keep asking to God for what you desire. If He finds your desire acceptable in His sight, surely He will bless you with what you have asked for. Surely in the coming days, God will do a miracle in your life and will make you happy.

I know a young guy who studied with me during my PG course. He usually does God’s work in a happy way. He always had a desire to do something for God and whenever he gets a chance he served God truly. As we finished our PG course he had a desire to work in a Christian college but he could not get a job there. He was so sad and he joined in another college. God had blessed him there and he was living a joyful life. One day he came to know about the job opening in the Christian college which he had desired to work. So he rushed there and the administrative people spoke nicely to him and he joined there.

He was praying to God for his marriage as it got delayed for so many years. Soon after three months of joining in that college, a marriage proposal came and it got fixed. He was so happy about it and the marriage was scheduled on a summer holiday. But soon after that the management of that particular college asked him to leave the college immediately for no reason.

Grief and sorrow filled his heart for he doesn’t know what to do as the marriage day was getting closer. He could not tell to his fiancee because he feared that the marriage will get stop if they come to know about it.

Even though his heart was heavy with sorrow and pain, he turned his face to God. Jesus Christ heard his heart cry and gave him a job with very good salary exactly ten days before his marriage. He could not believe what God did but his joy was at the peak because of the miracle that God did. Now as a young couple they live happily in the same city where I am working.

My dear friend, tell God your hearts desire. He will hear the cry of your heart and will do a miracle in your life so that your joy will be complete. Ask and you will receive and your joy will be complete.  God will not let you go weary. He will bless you and give you rest and joy. God bless you.
