QUOTES ON TOP

“I want something really worthwhile to live for. I want to invest this one life of mine as wisely as possible, in the place that yields the richest profits to the world and me…wherever it is, I want it to be God’s choice for me and not my own… Christ said, “He that would find his life shall lose it” and proved the truth of this divine paradox at Calvary. I want Him to lead me and His Holy Spirit to fill me.” – Betty Stam

RELATION & RELATIONSHIPS - 11 (BE KIND TO THOSE WHO ARE POOR)

'And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you." - Ephesians 4:32

In a particular family a boy was born as the 7th child out of 12 children. They were non-Christians and financially so poor. Because of their poor condition the parents could not provide breakfast to their children. They will go to work in the early morning and get their wages by afternoon. Then only they will buy the groceries and cook lunch.

As this particular boy was studying 6th standard, he used to go to school without eating breakfast. His mom will walk for 6kms to his school carrying his lunch. Sometimes she reaches his school before the lunch hour. The little boy knew that his mother has to go for work again so when he sees her bringing lunch, he will rush to the teacher asking her permission to go out. Then he will run to his mother and quickly eat his lunch and return back to his class.

A particular teacher who was the wife of a church pastor saw this boy’s strange behavior. One day she followed him after he asked her permission to go out. There she found out that he was eating his lunch in hurry. She asked his mother about their family condition and then she found out that they were so poor. So she told his mother that she will bring breakfast, lunch and dinner for her son from the next day.

Though she had 3 children, she begun to bring food for this little boy. As the little boy grew up her children liked him a lot and so she adopted him as her own son. Everyone in that family was living a disciplined life but this little boy used to go to movies without anyone’s knowledge during night time.

One day when everyone in that pastor’s family slept, he locked the home and rushed to the movie theatre. Somehow he forgot to handover the key to the watchman of the church and pastor’s house. On that day night a bishop came to meet the pastor. But as he took the key and went the bishop could not get into the house and also the pastor could not come out of the house. The bishop stood near the window and spoke to the pastor for few minutes and went.

Everyone in that family understood that the young boy had went to see a movie. He returned during late night and silently went to his room. Next day morning, the pastor politely asked him where he went during the night time. The young guy replied that he went to study in a friend’s place. The pastor didn’t spoke anything but he handed over the used movie ticket to him which he took from the shirt of the young guy. The young guy understood that he was caught red handed and thought that the pastor will send him out of his home because he was not their own son.

But in a loving voice the pastor said, “My son, don’t love the movies but love Jesus. He will help you in your life.” Saying this, the pastor went away. The young guy got touched by the behavior of that pastor and later he surrendered his life to Christ.

After so many years that young guy became a preacher and I met him today in a church training meeting. He shared his testimony before he started to speak. He told that he is in touch with that pastor who raised him even now.

He was not the pastor’s own son but yet that pastor forgave all his sins with a kind heart. It touched that young guy’s heart and his life got changed.

My dear young friends, be kind to one another. Forgive the sins of your loved ones. Help those who are in need. God will richly bless you and the relationship you are in. Your loved ones will never forget you and the relationship will grew stronger.
