“I want something really worthwhile to live for. I want to invest this one life of mine as wisely as possible, in the place that yields the richest profits to the world and me…wherever it is, I want it to be God’s choice for me and not my own… Christ said, “He that would find his life shall lose it” and proved the truth of this divine paradox at Calvary. I want Him to lead me and His Holy Spirit to fill me.” – Betty Stam

THE LORD WILL PRESERVE YOU FROM ALL EVIL

“The Lord shall preserve you from all evil; He shall preserve your soul.” – Psalms 121:7

In Daniel Chapter 3, we read about Daniel’s friends disobeying the order of the king. Nebuchadnezzar who was the king made an image of gold and it was ordered to fall down and worship the idol gold image that was setup by the king.

Everyone who gathered there obeyed the order but the friends of Daniel Shadrach, Meshach, Abed-Nego disobeyed the king’s order and they didn’t worshiped the idol.

Nebuchadnezzar got angry and he asked them to be brought before him. Then he asked them to worship the idol and he warned them that they will be cast into a burning fiery furnace if they fail to do so. As he spoke to them in anger without his knowledge he spoke against God. The last part of verse 15 says, “...And who is the God who will deliver you from my hands?”

Not only he challenged them but he also challenged God. Daniel’s friends faced a difficult choice. But yet they stood firm in their faith and told the king that they will not worship the idol and God will deliver them from his hands.

Hearing their reply Nebuchadnezzar got too angry that he ordered to heat the furnace seven times more than the usual heat level and cast them into the fiery furnace. Shadrach, Meshach, Abed-Nego fell down bound into the midst of the fiery furnace.

As soon as they fell down, Nebuchadnezzar saw another person inside the furnace walking along with Daniel’s friends. He also saw that they were not hurt and the form of the fourth person is like the son of God.

Then Nebuchadnezzar asked them to come out of the fiery furnace. When Daniel’s friends came out everyone found that even their hair and garments were not affected by the fiery fire.

Nebuchadnezzar praised the God who sent His angel to protect His people and he said, “...there is no other God who can deliver like this.”

Daniel’s friends faced the wrath of the king. They knew their life is in danger. But yet they kept their faith upon God. They stood for God and God stood for them. God protected them from the evil wrath of the king and the fiery furnace. God brought them out of the fiery furnace without any hurt and promoted them in that province. Initially Nebuchadnezzar challenged God but at last he praised God.

My dear young friends, authorities might come against you. Your friends and loved ones might come against you. You might be facing any kind of difficulty. Today God promises you that He will protect you from all evil. He shall preserve you and your soul.

You might say that you are going through a situation similar to the fiery furnace. Today Jesus Christ says to you that you will come out that situation (fiery furnace) without any hurt and His name will be glorified through you. Your enemy will praise God after seeing the mighty things that God is going to do in your life in the coming days.  God bless you
